The Pender Harbour Health Centre (PHHC) is proud to announce the launch of a new transportation service for Sunshine Coast seniors named Pender Harbour Seniors Link.
This free transportation service is funded by United Way BC and is a collaboration with the Sunshine Coast Health Aging Community Collaborate (HACC). The HACC is made up of Sunshine Coast senior serving organizations including the Sunshine Coast Resource Centre, Sunshine Coast Community Services Society, Pender Harbour Health Centre, Sunshine Coast Primary Care Network, Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre, and the Gibsons Seniors Society. The PHHC would like to thank these organizations for their support and collaboration as we developed this NEW transportation service.
The Pender Harbour Seniors Link is a FREE bus service offered from Tuesday – Thursday and allows seniors (60+) from Egmont to Sechelt access to an accessible transportation option. This service provides a hop on/hop off return trip from Egmont to Sechelt on service days. The PHHC will be utilizing our accessible 6-seater minibus to deliver this new service and will be launching to the community on Wednesday December 4th. In December 2024 we will offer the service from Wednesday December 4th – Thursday December 19th and will shut down for Christmas and New Year. Full service will resume on Thursday January 2nd, 2025.
Service is dependent on the weather and announcements will be made on the Pender Harbour Health Centre Facebook page and PHHC website when the service is unavailable. You can also call the PHHC reception at 604-883-2764 and staff can let you know if the service is available.
Attached to this article you will find the latest bus schedule and poster announcing the launch.
We look forward to welcoming seniors onboard and providing more transportation support for our community.
