The Pender Harbour Health Centre provides various nursing supports to our patients and community. Some of these supports are provided by PHHC employed Registered Nurses (RN) and some are in collaboration with Vancouver Coast Health and the Sunshine Coast Primary Care Network (PCN).
PHHC Nursing
- Lab & Clinic – Blood test, IV therapy, Wound Care, Injections, ECGs, Holter Monitor and 24hr blood pressure monitoring.
- Home care – RNs can do home visits for dressings, medication monitoring, diabetes care, assessments, counselling etc. Post-operative follow up by referral from surgeon. Coordination of care with other health care professionals.
- Palliative Care – RNs support patients on their end-of-life journey.
How to access
Patients can access the lab and clinic with a requisition/referral from a primary care provider, please call the Health Centre to schedule an appointment.
You DO NOT need to be connected to a PHHC physician to access these services, but you do need a referral.

Primary Care Network (PCN) Nursing

Specialized Nursing Clinics
- Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Clinic – Extended time with a Registered Nurse who supports patients with chronic health conditions such as but not limited to heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease etc.
- Youth Health Clinic – Registered Nurse who supports youth aged 13-24 with various health needs including sexual health supports.
How to access
You can access the CDM clinic either through a referral from a primary care provider or by self-referring. To access and book an appointment, please call the Health Centre reception at 604-883-2764.
The youth clinic is offered on a drop-in basis, no appointment needed.
Nursing Hours
CDM – Wednesday: 9am–4pm (please call for latest clinic info)
Youth – Tuesdays: 3pm–5pm (please call for latest clinic info)
VCH Nursing Services
- Public Health – provides pre- and post-natal screening and support, immunizations (all ages), youth health, harm reduction and sexual health
- Nurse practitioner – all ages all genders sexual health support.
